We are sooooo moving

From the San Diego Union-Tribune:

Los Angeles County will charge shoppers 10.25 percent if the governor's plan is adopted by lawmakers. The sales tax increase would be in effect for three years.

Do they really think that we believe that this would be temporary?
....and I like the Governator.

Well... you could always shop in Ventura County, couldn't ya? The article didn't state what each county's current sales tax rates are, so I might just be talkin' out my... ummm... "nether regions."

Buck,
Ventura County's taxes are about 1% lower than here, I believe. I just wish LA County wasn't so HUGE, it takes forever to get out of it!
I do think this may be the last straw for us living here in CA. We've been keeping an eye out for a transfer to MN or WI... but if Franken wins, it'll only be WI ;) because MN will be a lost cause.

That is a crazy high tax. And I complained about the 8.25% when we lived at Fort Hood...

I live in the Chicago area and we have that an more when it comes to sales tax.
I am lucky enough that I live close enough to a different county that for high ticket items I go to that county.
