Payback

I need another pair of hands for E3.

Don’t get me wrong…I feel very blessed to have such a healthy and energetic toddler.
It is now 0735, well 0800 by the time I post this, and this has been his day thus far…
-climb into the bathroom sink and throw all toothbrushes, paste and soap
-Take a box of Frosted Mini-Wheats out of the cupboard, empty the box and throw pieces around the kitchen, not neglecting the piles of sugar/cereal “dust” from the bottom of the bag
-Open the box for the game “Let’s Go Fishin’” , dump it, and throw little fish everywhere.
-Use E1’s glitter glue on the kitchen table
-Up and down the stairs 5 times
-Emptying a box of oatmeal onto the floor, and doing what E2 described as a “snow-angel”
-giggling and laughing the entire time

Keep in mind that I am never more than steps away from E3. I have not showered as of yet, and will definitely need to take him into the shower with me. I cannot keep him in his crib…he learned to climb out months ago. My number one concern is safety…so that has been my focus…keeping choking items away from him.

I guess it was only a matter of time…both Hubby and I were labeled “energetic toddlers”.

Oh, dear. Sounds as if E3 and M2 were cut from the same cloth. {{Hugs}} and good luck protecting him from himself.

oh boy. Does either of your families laugh when you tell them these things and say, "serves you right?" That's what my mom does to my older brother when one of his four kids does something nice, like scratch their FULL name into the side of daddy's nice shiny new truck...

I think I will dread the "I can get myself out of the crib, thank you" phase....

Hmmm. All that sounds SO familiar! And people wondered why I went into a minor tizzy at the thought of becoming a father again at the ripe ol' age of 52. Not that Dads (most of 'em anyway) have it near as hard as Moms. But we do get our share, however small it might be.

We do have reminders such as "remember when you were on the roof?", or my mom reminding me to bolt everything to the wall because I almost killed myself when I climbed up the dresser.

Oh gosh, I hope you were able to catch a break sometime today. Does he still nap? Junior is following in E3's footsteps, as fast as he can!

It's funny my brother just sent me video's of his twins, they are 1. I was exhausted just watching, then I read your blog. I know I don't have the energy to keep up anymore...

Oh boy! I raised a boy just like that! His name is Noah, and his new mantra, now that he is all grown and in college, is "I set out to save the world, and then I saw something shiny!" They wear you out, but it is the sign of a very bright and creative child! Hang in there!
