Road Trip is ON!

It looks like the road trip to Minnesota is a go!
Whoo hoo!
It'll be the third time that we've taken the drive, but we plan to take a different route this time.
Neither of us have been to Yellowstone, so we'll be hitting that destination on the way. We plan a stop at Mt. Rushmore as well.
Any "must-see's" that my faithful readers (all 3 of you) suggest?

We're taking Roxie and Emma as well. I'm sure that they are as excited as we are. They will see their crazy cousin, Reggie, the annoying Welsh Corgi.

I budgeted for $5/gallon gas, anticipating that it may continue to rise. I am very happy to see it down to $4.19/gallon today. Whew!

Oh I wish I had suggestions for you. I think you are venturing into one part of the country I have never visited.

I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing, fun time. :D

I've never been to that part of the country either, so no suggestions from me. Except: have lots of fun and take bunches of pictures!

DO go to Jewel Cave while you're at Rushmore. It's in the very same neighborhood and will only take a couple of hours to take the tour. And it's unforgettable. I'm understating the case with that word, too.

That's about the only thing that strikes me right off the top of my head; I'll add more if and when it comes to me. Yellowstone would take at LEAST a week to do it up in proper fashion. I spent a week there in late May back in 2000, and I was MOST impressed! Yellowstone is easily the BEST National Park in the system, IMHO.

I wish that we had a week to explore Yellowstone. Some day we will need to make that the destination instead of just a stopping point for a day or two.
I've marked Jewel Cave on the map, thanks for the tip!
