R.I.P. Snowflake
You were a wonderful addition to this family , however so brief. We don’t know why your time was so short. You were the fastest hamster …ever…and have the trophy to prove it (even if it was a paper trophy). We love you…you will be missed. You were a good hamster
oh gosh....I'm sorry....poor snowflake....I know how hard this is....my children all had hampsters and one who did not do well in heat....and lived a very short life, but long enough to become part of our family/zoo....
My husband did not do well with the children's grief and loss and we ended up with a funeral similar to the one for the frog "Beans" in "Cheaper by the Dozen".... more comedy then anything...I wasn't sure if I should have been laughing or crying, but my son was so sad, the crying won out.....
I was reading another blog and there was a link to yours. After reading a little I see that our husbands left about the same time (he's been gone over 6 months so far). I'm a SAHM of 3 and a college student and raising 3 really young kids all by my lonesome while DH is away for probably a total of 15 months. :(
Reading some of your entries was like reading my own journal (I have a livejournal). Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one being forced to live without my DH and it's comforting to know that there are many other women dealing with the same thing :)
Thanks for the well wishes everyone...the girls are doing fine. We had a little funeral today, I buried Snowflake in the front yard...it took 3 attempts, hitting large rocks, before I was able to dig a deep enough hole. Hopefully deep enough to keep out the coyotes. Patrice-it is helpful to see that there are so many other's in similiar situations..it keeps me sane...I added my email on the sidebar if you or anyone want to email me.
